The chimp trek in Nyungwe National Park is an amazing experience. In addition to the chimps you get a chance to view lots of other primates including several monkey species, lots of birds and mammals. Other highlights of this safar include a tour of Kigali City and visiting the genocide sites.
Pick-up is at 7.00am and travel to Nyungwe Forest National Park. We shall have a visit to the former king's palace and museum of Nyanza,continue for lunch in huye or butare. Continue to Nyungwe forest for an afternoon canopy walk way deep down into the forest. Check out and head to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge/Gisakura Guest House/Nyungwe top view hotel.
Be up by 6.30am for breakfast, pick your packed lunch and transfer to the park offices for briefing. After briefing you start the trek to look for the chimps. The chimps will draw your attention with their trademark pant-hoots. The trek though strenuous is an exiting one with lots of wildlife sightings. The experience could last for more than two hours. After the chimp tracking you retire back to the lodge to relax, have dinner and overnight.
Have breakfast, check out and travel to Kigali. Do a tour of the city with a visit to the genocide memorials sites, markets and shopping malls. After the tour you are transfered to you prefered drop-off location.
