This 3 Days Akagera national park wildlife safari transfers you to Akagera National Park one of African’s most diverse and scenic game reserves in terms of landscape yet least affected by mass tourism. You are able to drive for hours without another car in sight but only a beautiful wildlife. You shall have 2 morning game drives for great game sightings including elephants, lions, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, leopards, giraffes, impala, monkeys, mongooses, genets, serval cats, baboons, and bush babies among others. The relaxing afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema is is ideal for great wildlife sightings including lots of hippos, Nile crocodiles, lizards, and lots of birds.

Itinerary For The 3 Days Akagera National Park Wildlife Safari
Day 1 – Transfer to Akagera National Park
Prepare for pick-up at 7:00 am. Our driver shall brief you on the safari and then travel to East of Rwanda to Akagera National Park. Check in at Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Game Drive and Boat Ride on Lake Ihema
Be up for breakfast at 6:30 am and start the game drive at 7:00 am. This early morning game drive is a great opportunity to catch the early risers and the predators / nocturnal before they return to their hideouts. Expect great sightings of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, gazelles, spotted hyenas, impalas, baboons, warthogs, bushbucks, topis, oribis, and leopards. After three hours of wildlife sightings you return to the lodge for lunch and brief relaxation.
After the lunch break you go for the afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema. The boat ride offers great wildlife sightings including hippos and crocodiles at a close encounter. Lake Ihema offers a great opportunity for bird watching with over 500 bird species including the shoebill stork, herons, jacanas, ibis, gonolek among others. After the exciting boat ride you drive back to the lodge to relax, have dinner and overnight.
Days 3 – Game Drive, Transfer back to Kigali
Be up for breakfast at 6:00 am, check out and start yet another exciting game drive. Expect more wildlife sightings. After the game drive continue and drive to Kigali City for drop-off.
