Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport our driver shall transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2 – Kampala City Tour
After breakfast, the driver/guide shall pick you up from your hotel and set out for the Kampala City tour. The city tour includes a visit to several religious sites and cultural centers, the Uganda museum, local markets, taxi and bus parks. Lunch shall be inbetween visits at about 1pm. After the tour you shall be transfered back to your hotel to relax and have dinner.
Days 3 – Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Game Drive, Boat Ride
Have your breakfast early to prepare for the pick-up at 7.00amand travel to Lake Mburo National Park in Western Uganda. En route you shall make a brief stopover at the Uganda Equator at Kayabwe for some picture moments. Continue and get to Lake Mburo National Park, drive through the game trails and expect sightings of zebras, impalas, elands, warthogs and and lots of crested cranes. Proceed and check in to your lodge for lunch. After lunch set out for the afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. You are treated to an up-close view of marine animals such as crocodiles and hippos plus a range of birds other animals that come to drink from the lake and eat fresh grass along the shores. After the ride retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Nature walk, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Boat Ride
Be up for an early breakfast and set out for the morning nature walk to catch the nocturnals such as the hyenas before they return to their hideouts. After the walk return to check out and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You shall arrive in time for lunch. After your lunch you shall set out for the afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga is a host to lots of wildlife including one the highest concentration of bird species. Lots of animals come to channel to drink water, eat fresh grass and cool off the scorching heat. A relaxing ride of about to 2 hours expecting great sightings of hippos, elephants, elephants, monitor lizards, bufallos, antelopes among others.
Day 5 – Game Drive, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After your early morning game drive, set out for a game drive at 7.00am. Travel to the game-rich Kasenyi area. Expect to view lot of buffalos, bushbucks, waterbucks, lions, elephants, and breathtaking scenery of grassy hills and crater lakes. Return to the lodge for refreshment, check out and travel to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Transfer to Rwanda
After breakfast you travel to Rwanda via the Cyanika border and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Check in for dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 7 – Gorilla Trekking
Be up as early as 6.00am, get ready in your trekking attire, have breakfast and transfer to the park office. Assemble with the rest the group for briefing after which you are transferred to the starting point of the trek. The trek is quite strenuous climbing steep and slipper grounds and going through thick forest cover. The time taken to locate the gorillas varies from a few minutes to several hours. Chances of not locating them are very minimal. In fact by the time you start the trek the park rangers have an idea of where to find them basing on their movement habits and their known location the previous day. When you finally locate them you are allowed no more than one hour to observe and photograph them. After the trek you return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Days 8 – Golden Monkey Trekking, Dian Fossey Tomb hike
Be up for breakfast by 6.00am and transfer to the park offices for briefing. Trek the bamboo jungles for the golden monkeys. The monkeys do not remain high up in the trees and quite often they are just above eye level. You are allowed not more than one hour of observing the golden monkeys. Return to the lodge to refresh and have lunch. You then set out for the hike to the Dian Fossey grave. You shall learn about this great primatologist who dedicated her life to gorilla study and conservation. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 – Transfer to Kigali, City tour
After breakfast check out and travel to Kigali. Do a tour of the city with a visit to the genocide memorials sites, markets and shopping malls. After the tour shall be dropped off to a preferred location or transferred to the airport for your flight.
