Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – Top of the Falls

You are picked from your residence at 7.00am and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. You will pick some fruits in Luwero and thereafter continue and get to Masindi town for your lunch. After the lunch break continue and get to Murchison Falls National Park via Kichubanyobo Gate. Drive into the park and get to the Murchison Falls. The Murchison are the world’s strongest waterfall and the only one of their kind along the Nile. The Nile squeezes through a tiny cleft, about 7 meters wide, and explodes into falls. The sight is a spectacle. Thereafter transfer to your lodge.

Day 2: Early Game Drive, Afternoon Launch Ride

After your early breakfast set out for an early game drive in Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest national. Explore the major game tracks on the northern side of the Nile for big game sightings. You are likely to see lots of buffalos, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, elephants, baboons and several birds. The game drive lasts more than 4 hours, after which you return to the lodge to relax and have lunch.

Later set out for the boat ride along the Nile to the bottom of the Murchison Falls. A relaxing ride of about 3 hours, expect lots of wildlife sightings along the river banks including hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, monitor lizards, waterbucks, buffalos, elephants and lots of water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Fortportal

After your breakfast check out and depart for Port Portal. Drive on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort road with panoramic views of western rift valley and the verdant countryside, and get to Fort Portal. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the legenday Mountains of the Moon. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight. Lunch is enroute.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive, Boat Ride

Have early breakfast and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Immediately you get to the park, set out for a game drive for great game sightings and scenic cater lakes and grassy hills. Expect to see lots of elephants, Uganda kobs, buffalos, waterbucks, and bushbucks. After the game drive transfer to your lodge for lunch and relax.

Later set out for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel to Lake Edward. The channel is a wildlife magnet hosting lots of animals and more birds than the entire USA. Hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, and monitor lizards are a common sight. Elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, kobs, and other game come to the shores to drink, cool off, and eat fresh grass. Bird lovers are in for a treat! Cormorants, African fish eagle, pied and malachite kingfishers, pink-backed pelicans, cattle egrets and lots of colorful birds throng the shores of the channel. The ride last about 2 and half hours, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Early Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have early breakfast, and go an early game drive and expect to see lions, mongoose, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffalos. Drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park called Ishasha. Be on the on look out for the tree-climbing lions that are common to this section of the park plus other big game.

Thereafter proceed out of the park and head for Bwindi National Park, home of the Mountain Gorillas. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight. Lunch is enroute.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After your early breakfast, transfer to an assembly point for briefing from the ranger. Set off into Bwindi Forest to track a habituated gorilla group. The time taken to find the gorillas is very unpredictable and could take from a few minutes to a whole day. After a successful gorilla experience return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Travel to Kampala

After your breakfast, depart for Kampala. Travel via Mbarara and be on lookout for some zebra sightings as you drive along Lake Mburo National Park on the Kampala-Mbarara highway. Expect enroute stopovers for lunch in Mbarara and at the Uganda Equator for some picture moments.
